The Competition
Starting from Saturday 8 June 2024, AAB’s selection process for the national Esports racing team will begin with a free entry, open competition.
Rules & Regulations
All participants undertake to apply, as well as observe, the AAB National Esports GT Time Trial Championship Rules and Regulations throughout the Competition.
Selection Criteria
The minimum age and nationality requirements for final selection for the national team are for Bangladeshi passport holders, aged 16 and above.
The AAB and FIA
The Automobile Association of Bangladesh (AAB) is launching an open selection process for a National Team to represent Bangladesh at the 2024 FIA Motorsport Games in Spain in October 2024. The AAB is on a mission to discover all Bangladeshis with a talent and passion for motorsport and Esports.
The AAB is the National Sporting Authority (ASN) for Bangladesh, as recognised by the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA), the world body for motorsport. AAB has sole authority for the selection of Bangladeshi nationals for the FIA Motorsport Games.
As part of the 2024 FIA Motorsport Games, Esports will be featuring in 2 categories: Esports GT and Esports F4. Esports are an accessible way for people to participate in the excitement of motorsport. Every Formula 1 team has its own Esports team. Some Esports drivers have even been able to progress to physical motorsport.
Bangladesh was proudly represented at the 2022 FIA Motorsport Games in France for the first time, when AAB selected Arhaam Rahaman in the Fanatec Esports category, supported by Beximco. This time we want to send a bigger team including 2 drivers for the Esports GT and Esports F4 categories.
The Competition
Starting from Saturday 8 June 2024, AAB’s selection process for the national Esports racing team will begin with a free entry, open competition. Female and male applicants are equally encouraged to register here to participate. Registration will continue to be available after the start of Round 1 of the competition.
Round 1 will consist of an open time trial for the fastest lap time in Esports GT racing in the game Assetto Corsa Competizione (ACC) hosted on the AAB server. Round 1 will be open for 1 month to all Bangladeshis anywhere in the world. Registration will remain open during this period. Drivers can set as many lap times as possible during the time trial. Applicants who are unable to access ACC but are proficient in other racing games are encouraged to contact us. Specialist sim racing equipment is not required in Round 1.
The Top 30 eligible drivers to set the fastest lap times will then progress to Round 2, a multi-race championship, including Esports GT races in ACC and Esports F4 races in iRacing. The next top 250 eligible drivers from Round 1 will be considered for a surprise runners-up prize.
Selection Criteria
The minimum age and nationality requirements for final selection for the national team are for Bangladeshi passport holders, aged 16 and above. Visas for entry to Spain will also be required prior to departure. Bangladeshis who cannot satisfy these requirements are still encouraged to register and participate.
